Canadian Border Updates
Gobbler,
When I crossed and asked the border guard at Pigeon river he said they like it if you can hit within 15mins of your arrival time.... Well not much room there and even though we have the trip down to that level of timing you certainly can't control getting behind a slow mover, road construction, and any number of reasons. I would not stress about it even if your within an hour or two. If you get delayed to another day I would just resubmit for the next day. So many variables and I am sure they see it everyday.
One other thing to keep in mind when planning your timeline. Pigeon river is in the eastern time zone, if you go that route up 61. So if you are going to hit the border at noon central its really already 1pm there so keep that into consideration when selecting your arrival time.
14ftdown, safe travels will be up the week after for the first trip. Interesting on your version even the app store shows 2.28.6 as the latest version released last week. All good.
Wini, you can fill in the dates just don’t go more than 72hrs out then go thru the complete list of questions the last thing they prompt you if you want to submit. “Don’t hit that button”. When your ready update your date and submit it will then give you an arrival receipt code. Not a big deal. The codes it gives you back may vary based on your responses so no worries.
So as I understand I can download the program and fill in a good part of it, but I cannot fill in my date of arrival until three days before we crossed the border. Then I assume when I complete the app three days before we leave, that I will get a receipt showing everything necessary to cross the border. I guess in a sense the app assumes you will fill in everything three days before you leave, while many of us would like to have it ready to go now and not three days before we leave
Wini,
The current version is V2.28.6, you can see the version on an iPhone by selecting settings at the bottom of the screen and scrolling to the bottom. You can then compare your version on the AppStore. If you phone is set to auto updates you should be fine.
Go to the travelers tab at the bottom on iPhone 2 to the left of settings. Make sure button that says save my travel documents is turned on.
You can not submit until 72hrs prior to crossing.I am no expert but have used to cross and helped a few other folks out. Any questions let me know or PM and I will try to help.
Could use a little advice and help using arriveCan. My group is going at the end of May. I downloaded the app and I believe successfully downloaded my proof of vaccination and passport. However, I believe the program was updated after I set up my account. I see various warnings on the Internet to be sure you have the latest version of the program. I have not been able to figure out how to upgrade. Also, will an upgrade delete the information I've already entered?
It looks like all my information is still in my account. However, I do not see any initials or letters after my name on the receipt. Is this because I must update my account three days before we leave? I'm just worried. I will be taking along a hard copy of my vaccination record and my passport. Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.
